Marshall Jones is a realist painter born in Atlanta Georgia, and presently working and living in New York City. Marshall is the recipient of numerous grants, travel funds, and scholarships, including the Elizabeth Greenshields Grant in 2008.  He was also awarded the Phylis Mason Grant and The Jean Gates Grant.  As a scholarship member of the Salmagundi Club, he has been twice awarded the Richard Pionk award at the annual members show.  In 2010 he was awarded the Fantasy Fountain Fund Travel Scholarship which enabled him to study at the Paris American Academy. He was also an ESKFF artist in residence at MANA Contemporary in Jersey City.

Throughout his career, Marshall has strived to understand the chaos of humanity and highlight the happy, sad, and bizarre experiences we all have as we work our way through the world. His work is a spotlight on our behaviour, a mirror in which we see reflected the truth within our actions and realization that we are just as much a part of a whole as we are painfully alone. Marshall’s paintings reveal all the things we try to hideaway.

Marshall teaches figure drawing and painting at the Art Students League of New York, The New York Academy of Art, the Salmagundi Club, and National Arts Club. His work has shown in Denise Bibro Gallery, Lodge Gallery, Dacia Gallery, Abend Gallery, and Mark Miller Gallery. Marshall is also the co-founder and host of the Art Grind Podcast.
