A NOTE FOR EU AND UK ARTISTS: We have received revised guidelines from The Environment Agency stating that applications for restoring or maintaining Works of Art created after 1992 cannot be approved under the REACH Regulations.

Compliance with these rules is essential as the Environment Agency conducts regular audits. For information on sourcing lead paint for historic buildings, please visit Historic England’s website.

Thank you for your understanding. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
MH

Inorganic – Cremnitz White 1 is made with pure industrial lead carbonate in linseed oil, creating a heavy, tactile white with a robust surface. It’s name derives from its place of origin, the Bohemian town of Kormeriz, called Cremnitz while under Hapsburg rule. This is the ideal white for furrowed, granular, or impasto mark making. When used unmixed, it cures with a slight oil expression to the surface, giving it a warm, parchment-like effect. Cremnitz White No. 1 is a wonderful all-around mixer that supports middle-value hues without annulling them.
